Barreiro (Portuguese pronunciation: [bɐˈʁɐjɾu]) is a municipality in Portugal with a total area of 32.0 km2 (12 sq mi) and a total population of 79,047 inhabitants. It contains the town of Barreiro.

The municipality is composed of 8 parishes (freguesias), and is located in Setúbal District.

The present Mayor is Carlos Humberto Carvalho, elected by the Unitarian Democratic Coalition.
